Everything you should know about lash lifts at our beauty salon in Salzburg
How long does a lash lift last? Find out everything about the procedure, duration, longevity, aftercare and possible risks of a lash lift.

Would you like curled lashes without reaching for the eyelash curler every morning? A lash lift shapes your natural lashes, making them look longer and more expressive.
But how long does a lash lift actually last? How long does the treatment take? And what should you bear in mind afterwards?
Here we answer the most important questions about lash lifts and explain how the treatment works at our beauty salon in Salzburg.
What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is a cosmetic treatment in which your own natural lashes are lifted and given a curled shape.
Unlike lash extensions, no artificial hairs are attached. Instead, the natural lash is shaped so that it looks longer and more curled.
A particularly popular combination is a lash lift with lash tinting. The darker colour makes the lashes look even more defined and expressive.
How long does a lash lift last?
A lash lift usually lasts about 6 to 8 weeks.
The exact longevity, however, depends on the individual growth cycle of your lashes. As the treated lashes gradually fall out and are replaced by new hairs, the lift effect slowly fades over time.
The result is usually most clearly visible in the first few weeks.
How long does a lash lift with tinting last?
With a lash lift including tinting, the curl can also remain visible for about 6 to 8 weeks.
The lash colour, however, can fade sooner than the lift effect itself. It can therefore make sense to have your lashes tinted again between two lifts.
How long does a lash lift take?
For a professional lash lift you should allow about 45 to 60 minutes.
The exact duration depends, among other things, on whether the lashes are also tinted and how elaborate the desired shape is.
During the treatment you can relax with your eyes closed.

How does a lash lift work?
First, we discuss the lash look you would like. We then choose the right shape for your natural lashes.
1. Cleansing
First, the eye area is carefully cleansed. Make-up, skin oils and other residues are removed.
2. Positioning the lashes
A suitable silicone pad is placed on the eyelid. The natural lashes are then carefully aligned on it.
3. Lifting the lashes
A special lifting lotion makes the lashes pliable and creates the desired curl.
4. Setting the shape
Another lotion is then used to set the new shape of the lashes.
5. Tinting the lashes
If you wish, we also tint your lashes. This makes them look darker, denser and longer.
After the treatment your natural lashes look more curled and expressive – without any artificial lashes.
Lash lift or lash extensions – what is the difference?
With a lash lift we work exclusively with your natural lashes. They are lifted and reshaped.
With lash extensions, on the other hand, additional artificial lashes are attached.
A lash lift is therefore particularly suitable if you want a natural look and want to show off your own lashes.
How do I prepare for a lash lift?
On the day of the treatment you should ideally come to your appointment without eye make-up.
We also recommend:
- no eyelash curler just before your appointment
- no oil-based products on the lashes
- taking out contact lenses for the treatment
- mentioning known allergies or particularly sensitive eyes beforehand
This way the lashes can be optimally prepared for the lift.
What should you not do after a lash lift?
The right aftercare after a lash lift can help the result stay beautiful for as long as possible.
Especially in the first 24 to 48 hours you should treat your lashes with care.
If possible, avoid:
- water and heavy steam on the lashes
- the sauna
- heavy sweating
- rubbing your eyes hard
- eyelash curlers
- eye make-up immediately after the treatment
After that you can usually return to your normal beauty routine.
Can you wear mascara after a lash lift?
After the recommended waiting time you can generally wear mascara again.
However, many clients need much less mascara after a lash lift, as the lashes already look more curled and – with additional tinting – darker.
Who is a lash lift suitable for?
A lash lift is particularly suitable if your natural lashes:
- grow straight
- point downwards
- look shorter because of their natural growth direction
- should get more curl
A lash lift can also be interesting if you want to spend less time on eyelash curlers and mascara in the morning.
Are there any risks with a lash lift?
As a lash lift uses various cosmetic products in the immediate vicinity of the eyes, professional application is particularly important.
With sensitive skin or known allergies, skin irritation or allergic reactions can occur, for example.
So please tell your beauty therapist about any known allergies, intolerances or particularly sensitive eyes before the treatment.
Lash lift during pregnancy – is it possible?
Hormonal changes during pregnancy can change the structure of the hair. As a result, the outcome of a lash lift may also be different or less pronounced.
If you are pregnant, you should therefore mention this before your appointment.
Frequently asked questions about lash lifts
As a rule about 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the individual growth cycle of your lashes.
Allow about 45 to 60 minutes for the treatment.
Tinting can be combined with the lift. This makes the lashes look darker and more expressive.
There should be enough time between treatments for your natural lashes to renew themselves. We will advise you individually based on your lashes.
